Mental Health Intervention Training
Mental Health Intervention Training is an eight (8) hour course designed to equip the layperson with the skills needed to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use disorder crisis, identify resources, and link individuals in need of treatment and support to appropriate services in a non-threatening and supportive manner. Our training helps to debunk myths and leverage stats, stories, and the latest research to spark open dialogue, create a shared understanding of the prevalence and impact of mental health concerns, and provide concrete skills and ongoing discussion tools. Participants learn to implement a five-step action plan that can be used to intervene when others are in need.
The training provides research-based strategies in an interactive workshop format. The goal is to build a shared understanding of mental health and teach laypersons as well as leaders, managers, and teams, to create a trusting and inclusive culture for mental health by providing the skills needed to intervene in an affirming and destigmatizing way.
